Bhubaneswar: A 15-foot-long python was successfully rescued from a canal in Kaduani village under the Nilagiri Forest Range in Balasore district on Saturday.
According to reports, villagers spotted the massive reptile in the canal early in the morning and immediately alerted the Forest Department. A team of forest officials promptly reached the spot and launched a rescue operation.
After sustained efforts, the team managed to safely capture the python. Upon examination, it was confirmed that the snake measured approximately 15 feet in length.
The python was later released into a secluded area of the nearby forest.
