Bhubaneswar: As the incumbent Odisha Government has tightened up its belt for effecting large scale industrialization in the State by implementing various policies, 3,91,701 micro, small and medium enterprises have been set up till date following which 15,29,463 employment opportunities have been created.
This was informed in the Assembly today by Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra in reply to a query made by BJD MLA Soumya Ranjan Patnaik.
Apprising the members of the House, the Minister said that 3,91,701 industrial units have been established in the State till date with an investment of Rs 19141.81 crore and the initiative has been able to create 15,29,463 employment opportunities.
He also informed that 1206 MSMEs have been provided incentive by the State Government to a tune of Rs 151.82 crore in the last five years.
The MSME Minister further apprised the House that the incentive is being provided under the existing policies of IPR-2015, Odisha MSMED Policy-2016 and Odisha Food Processing Policy-2016.
He, however, informed the Legislative Assembly that exercise is on progress to implement new Industrial Policy by the Department.
