15 Lakh New Ration Cards To Be Distributed From New Year

Bhubaneswar: Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra announced that 15 lakh new ration cards will be distributed to beneficiaries from the New Year. The government has 15 lakh new ration cards available for distribution to eligible beneficiaries.

Minister Patra stated that out of 15.33 lakh applications received, 6.39 lakh cards have already been distributed. The government has removed 8.16 lakh ineligible cards from the list, including those of income tax payers, job holders, and deceased beneficiaries.

The Chief Minister has approved an additional 15 lakh cards, and the distribution process is expected to begin soon.
