Bhubaneswar: In a major relief for civil service aspirants, the Odisha government on Saturday announced that 151 additional posts will be filled under the Odisha Civil Services Examination (OCSE) 2025.
The decision follows the intervention of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who acted after reports of dissatisfaction among candidates regarding the earlier notification.
The OCSE 2025 notification, issued by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) on December 31, 2025, had omitted vacancies in key cadres such as the Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) and Odisha Revenue Service (ORS). This prompted concern and frustration among aspirants, who were eager to compete for these positions.
Responding promptly, Chief Minister Majhi reviewed the vacant posts and directed that the government fill the missing positions. Following his directive, the OPSC has been asked to fill 14 posts in OAS, 113 in ORS, 16 in Odisha Transport Service (OTS), and 8 in Odisha Welfare Service (OWS), bringing the total to 151 additional posts.
This decision will enable many aspirants to appear for the examination and succeed based on their merit. The Chief Minister also stated that the state government is giving the highest priority to recruitment, and in the past 18 months, nearly 40,000 government positions have been filled.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Majhi has directed all departments to recommend to the commission that all vacant posts be filled until the publication of notifications for upcoming examinations, ensuring that aspirants have ample opportunities to participate.
