Bhubaneswar: Pravati Parida, Odisha Deputy Chief Minister who is also in charge of the Women and Child Development Ministry, reveal on Wednesday that 157 men have applied for the financial aid under Odisha’s flagship welfare programme ‘Subhadra Yojana’.
As the Subhadra Yojana only aims at empowering women, the applications submitted by these men have been rejected, she added.
The minister told the media that women living outside Odisha are also eligible for benefit under the Subhadra Yojana and appealed to such women to apply for the scheme. “We have found that several women who are eligible for the financial aid under the programme are currently living outside the state. I appeal to them to apply for the yojana,” she said.
She said that the fourth phase of the first installment of Subhadra Yojana money will be released to the beneficiaries soon. As many as 20 lakh eligible beneficiaries are yet to receive the benefits of the programme, Parida said.
