Bargarh: Sixteen students were allegedly physically assaulted by their teacher at Thakuradia Primary School in Bargarh district on Wednesday.
The accused teacher has been identified as Padmalochan Muna.
According to Kishore Sahoo, the father of one of the students, the teacher was drunk when he struck the children. “He hit some students with a stick and injured some on their heads. After the attack, the injured students were taken to the hospital,” Sahoo said.
He added that they immediately contacted the Block Education Officer (BEO) and local police arrived at the scene. “The police told us they would take action after receiving the report from the BEO,” he explained.
Feeling distressed by the sight of their injured children, Sahoo said, “Seeing the injuries on my child, my heart breaks.”
