Paradip: Fishermen in Paradip netted 16 rare ‘telia borei’ fish estimated to be worth around Rs 18 lakh on Tuesday.
According to reports, the 16 telia borei fishes caught by a trawler named Parbati were sent to Digha in neighbouring West Bengal for sale as these fishes fetch better price at Digha as compared to that at Paradip.
Telia Borei is a valuable fish containing plenty of oil in its intestines, which is often exported and used to make drugs.
