Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, the dead body of a 17-year-old minor girl was recovered from a house located in Shriram Nagar slum, under the jurisdiction of Mancheswar police station in Bhubaneswar, on Monday night.
According to reports, the minor girl from Uttar Pradesh was working as a house-help for a couple living in the Shriram Nagar area of Mancheswar.
The couple stated that on Monday evening, the girl locked herself inside a room and did not respond when called for dinner at 9:30 pm. Being suspicious about the safety of the girl, they broke into the room through the window, where they discovered the girl’s hanging corpse tied to the ceiling fan with a saree.
Upon being informed, the Mancheswar police arrived on the spot and initiated an investigation into the matter with the assistance of a forensic team.
The actual reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained.
