18 Pilgrims Injured As Truck Hits Bus On Way To Puri

Khurda: At least 18 persons were injured after a truck hit the private bus they were travelling by from Rayagada to Puri in Odisha’s Khurda district on Friday morning.

According to reports, the bus was transporting 42 people from the Gudari NAC area in Rayagada to Puri to see the Srimandir Parikrama project. While the bus stopped for a while on the way on National Highway No 16 near Ghar Khurda Street, a speeding truck rammed against it from behind injuring some passengers.

On being informed, local police rushed to the accident spot and rescued the injured with the help of locals. The injured have been admitted to the Khurda District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).  Khurda District Collector Chanchal Rana also reached the hospital and inquired about the health of the injured.
