Bhubaneswar: A total of 182 posts in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Forest Service (IFS) are currently vacant in Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed the state assembly on Monday.

In a written reply to a question by Nayagarh MLA Arun Kumar Sahoo, the Chief Minister stated that of the 584 sanctioned posts—248 IAS, 195 IPS, and 141 IFS—only 402 officers are currently in position. This includes 203 IAS, 129 IPS, and 70 IFS officers, leaving 45 IAS, 66 IPS, and 71 IFS posts unfilled.

CM Majhi further said that steps are being taken to facilitate the return of officers from central deputation. The state government has also urged the Centre to expedite the process of filling up the vacancies.
