Cuttack: In a joint operation led by the RPF team of Cuttack and Telangana’s Nalgonda police have apprehended two culprits, along with stolen cash amounting to a whopping 24 lakh rupees from Falaknuma Express on Sunday.
According to reports, the accused were arrested by the Nalgonda police and Railway Protection Force (RPF) team of Cuttack from Falaknuma Express (Train No:12705) while en route to Jajpur from Cuttack.
The accused identified as one Ram Narayan Yadav (40) and Sk. Siraj (43) both, belong to Manihari village of Katihar district, Bihar.
Police officials have seized liquid cash worth Rs 24,00,000, equivalently divided in bundles of Rs 3,00,000 each.
The accused were arrested based on a formal complaint filed by one Rama Chary of Nalgonda, Telangana.
The accused duped the complainant, Rama under the pretext of a money-doubling scheme.
A formal complaint with case number 127/24 was registered by the Nalgonda police on June 22, 2024, under section 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), after which the police officials were continuously tracking the culprits.
The Nalgonda police have applauded the sincere cooperation of the Cuttack RPF team in nabbing the fraudsters.
