Bhubaneswar: Police busted a cattle smuggling racket and rescued nine bovines in the Kaupur area of Bhadrak district, The police also arrested two individuals on charges of cattle smuggling and seized a car in the process.
According to reports, after receiving information about cattle being smuggled out of the state from Kaupur area, Bhadrak police set up a watch on the roads.
During their surveillance, they stopped a car and discovered 9 cows inside. The smugglers attempted to flee, but the police managed to thwart their escape, seizing the vehicle and arresting the two individuals.
The Bhadrak police are now questioning the suspects and continuing their investigation into the matter.
