2 Chatrapur Firemen Felicitated For Saving Man From Flooded River

Ganjam: Odisha Fire Service DG Satyajit Mohanty today felicitated two brave firemen of Chatrapur Fire Brigade Station for saving a villager from the flooded Rushikulya river.

While the two felicitated firemen are Tapan Kumar Behera and Kanhu Shrichandan Parida, the person who has been saved is Babuli Behera of Munisipentha village under Chatrapur block in the district here.
The two firemen had swum across 6 km in the swollen river to get back alive the villager swept away by the river current.

During the felicitation, Chief Fire Officer Sukanta Sethi was also present.

The DG lauded the two firemen and also presented them citations.

Yesterday, the two have already been felicitated by Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange, Chatrapur MLA Subash Chandra Behera, Block Chairman M. Dhananjaya Reddy, BDO Ambika Prasad Dash in presence of all the employees.

On day before yesterday, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had also tweeted and highly praised the two firemen for their bravery and exemplary dutifulness.
