Balasore: Two constables of Chandipur police station in Balasore district were grievously injured on Saturday after being allegedly attacked with a spade by an accused inside the police station.
While constable Siddheswar Sahu has been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as his health condition deteriorated, the other constable has been admitted to Fakir Mohan Medical College & Hospital here.
Accused Sanatan Soren has been arrested. Balasore SP has launched an investigation into the incident.
According to reports, Chandipur police had arrested accused Soren under section 307 of IPC and brought him to the police station today.
In a bid to flee from the police station, Soren allegedly attacked the two constables with a spade leaving them grievously hurt.
