Bhubaneswar: The School & Mass Education (S&ME) Department is devoted to usher qualitative changes in the educational ecosphere of Odisha, said Aswathy S, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, S & ME.
Addressing a gathering of senior education officials at the concluding event of the two-day review-cum-training programme of BEOs and DEOs at Krushi Bhawan here today, Awasthy asserted that the education sector in Odisha is undergoing a revolution, decisive measures are being undertaken to improve the standard of classroom delivery in every government and government-aided schools of the State.
The participating officials were also guided upon to develop strategies for raising educational standards and to establish goals for the upcoming year. Officials from eight districts of Berhampur Zone attended the training session.
Delivering his talk on Maintenance of Infrastructure (Elementary Schools), Anupam Saha, SPD-OSEPA & Member Secretary, Mo School emphasized the need for refined development in educational quality and advised the participants to get ready and take action to create a qualitative shift in the educational arena.
Saha spoke elaborately on the newly introduced ‘CM’s Award for Education’ constituted to make educational ecosystem aspirational by incorporating recognition and reward for all stakeholders.
The initiative will benefit 50,000 students, 1500 teachers, head teachers, senior education officers, alumni committees, SMC members, Gram Panchayats to create healthy competition and promote better educational outcomes.
In the session on Mo School, the progress of alumni projects and the 5T High School Transformation Programme were discussed. Added to this, important topics such as engagement of SHGs for cleanliness, watch and ward in schools were also discussed.
The concluding session witnessed detailed discussions on the every-day functioning and related affairs of Secondary Education, Finance, DPC, Vocational Education, Textbook distribution and NAS Performance by senior officials of the respective directorates.
