Rourkela: In a tragic incident today morning, two persons were killed and around 10 injured after a minibus rammed into a road divider near Balughat here.
The incident occurred at around 8 am today morning when a speeding minibus carrying more than 15 passengers hit the divider and toppled on its side.
One of the deceased has been identified as Sumi Kispotta, a 40-year-old woman. The other person who died in this incident is yet to be identified.
Locals rushed to the spot and rescued the victims. Within a few minutes a team of local police arrived at the spot and shifted the injured to Rourkela Government hospital. Some of them are stated to be critical.
The bus named ‘Maa Tarini’ had come from Lathikata and was proceeding towards Rourkela. The mishap occured en-route, on National Highway 143.
Local police have registered a case in this connection and sent the bodies of the deceased for autopsy. The ill-fated vehicle has been seized.
