Bhubaneswar: Forest department personnel in Satkosia Wildlife Sanctuary in Angul district of Odisha recovered two decomposed carcasses of pachyderms on Tuesday. According to reports, local villagers spotted the carcasses near Jagannathpur village inside the forest range.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the elephants died due to electrocution after coming in contact with high-tension live wire. Apparently, the elephants died around four days back. Forest department officials said that the state of decomposition of the elephant carcasses shows that the animals died last week.
