2 Ex OFDC Officials Awarded 2 Yrs Imprisonment In 31-YO Corruption Case

Koraput: Jeypore Vigilance Court today sentenced two persons to two years imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on each of them after convicting them in a 31-year-old case pertaining to financial irregularities.

Special Vigilance Judge Rajesh Ekka pronounced the sentence after convicting retired SSM-cum-SDM of OFDC (Odisha Forest Development Corporation) Papdahandi Sudhanshu Sekhar Mishra and retired Assistant Supervisor of OFDC Papdahandi Amar Jusa Dukhu.

According to the proceedings of the case, the duo had allegedly committed irregularities to the tune of Rs 50,07,337 at the Papdahandi timber depot in Nabarangpur district. The duo had sold off all the timber in the depot.

Based on the allegation the Vigilance had registered a case against them in this connection on September 30 in 1990.

The court convicted them after 31 years of registration of the case against them after recording depositions of 13 witnesses in the case.
