Bhubaneswar: Two persons died while another person was injured when a car they were travelling in collided with a truck from behind on National Highway 55 near under Jarapada police limits in Angul district.
The deceased have been identified as Amit Kumar Sahu and Bhisma Sahu. The critically injured person has been rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. They were on their way to Sambalpur to attend a wedding when the mishap took place.
According to information, three youths were traveling in a Honda City car towards Sambalpur around 12:40 am. They had left Talcher and were near Maratira when the car collided with a truck carrying pipes. As a result, two people died on the spot, while one person was critically injured.
The truck driver fled the scene after the accident. Locals took the injured, Gopal from Santapada village, to Angul District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.
Upon receiving the news, the police arrived at the scene, seized the vehicles, and launched an investigation.
