Berhampur: Two youths were killed and three others were grievously hurt in a road mishap in Ganjam district today evening.
According to reports, a hit truck hit two bikers from the rear near Tulasipalli under Bhanjanagar police limits in Ganjam district on Bhanjanagar-Daspalla road today evening.
As a result of the collision, a biker and his pillion rider were killed on the spot. The deceased biker and his pillion rider have been identified as Bhola Pradhan of Golapada village and Lokanath Swain of Kantadhol village respectively.
Three youths who were astride another bike were also hit by the same truck. These youths who have sustained serious injuries and were lying on the road side have been rushed to the Bhanjanagar Sub Divisional Hospital. Their condition remains serious, the reports added.
The driver of the truck has managed to flee the spot. Bhanjanagar police have reached the spot and are investigating the matter.
