2 Killed, Several Injured After Marriage Party Van Falls Off Bridge In Koraput

Jeypore (Koraput): At least two persons were killed while over 15 others sustained injuries, some of them critically after a pickup van in which they were travelling to a marriage party fell off a bridge at Khatlapadar under Kundura police limits in Koraput district.

The injured were admitted to Kundura CHC. Their condition is stated to be critical.

The exact reason for the mishap has not yet been known. Locals said that it happened due to rash driving.

On being informed, two fire tender units and an ambulance rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. The identity of the deceased remains unclear.

The incident took place when the vehicle ferrying over 30 people was on its way from Baipariguda to Majhiguda.

The driver of the vehicle is absconding after the mishap.
