2 Minor Girls Drown In Sandul River In Kalahandi

Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, two minor girls on Tuesday drowned in the Sandul river near Bilat village in Rupra Road gram panchayat under Narla police limits in Kalahandi district.

The deceased minor girls have been identified as Naina Durga (17) and Rinki Harijan (16) of Bilat village.

According to reports, like any other day Naina and Rinki had gone to take bath in Sandul river. The duo drowned while bathing.

On being informed by the villagers, Fire Service personnel arrived at the spot and fished out the bodies from the river.

Narla police have seized the bodies and sent them for post-mortem at Narla Community Health Centre (CHC).
