Bhubaneswar: At least four persons were killed in a tragic accident which took place in Kandhamal district late night on Saturday. The mishap occurred near Lahabadi under Phulbani Sadar police limits.
According to reports, a speeding car collided with a truck from behind leading to the fatal accident. Two among the deceased are minor children while four have susatined serious injuries.
The deceased have been identified as Rojalin Digal and Bhagia Digal (siblings), Dipti Ranjan Pradhan and Purnachandra Mishra.
The passengers in the car were returning from Talapada in Bisipada to Gummgada after attending a function. Four persons were killed on the spot while four have been hospitalised.
Three among the injured have been shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital after their condition deteriorated. Phulbani Sadar police have registered a case and seized the ill-fated vehicle.
