Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Monday conducted simultaneous raids at nine places associated with two OAS officers and four Revenue Inspectors accused of illegally settling valuable Government land under the Odisha Government Land Settlement Act in favour of in-eligible beneficiaries under the Vasundhara scheme.
Simultaneous house searches were launched at nine places in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Bhadrak and Jagatsinghpur against 1) Ramesh Chandra Panda, OAS, Ex-Tahasildar, Kujang, who is presently Tahasildar of Tihidi; 2) Mahendra Prasad Mohanty, OAS, Retd, Ex- Sub-Collector, Jagatsinghpur; 3) Santosh Kumar Mallick, Ex-Revenue Inspector, Jhimani RI Circle; 4) Narendra Kumar Lenka, Ex-Revenue Inspector (Retired), Paradeep Garh; 5) Subash Chandra Das, Ex- Revenue Inspector, Kujanga; 6) Jyoti Bhusan Barik, Ex- Revenue Inspector, Pandua Circle.
They have been accused of criminal misconduct, misappropriation, forgery and criminal conspiracy in illegally settling valuable Government land under the Odisha Government Land Settlement Act in favour of in-eligible beneficiaries under the Vasundhara scheme.
The Vigilance has registered a case against them under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Indian Penal Code.
Nine teams led by one Additional SP, 11 DSPs, 6 Inspectors are conducting the search. The investigation is in progress.
