2 Odisha Cadre IPS Officers To Get “President’s Police Medal”

**Bhubaneswar: ** Two Odisha cadre senior IPS officers have been selected to receive the coveted “President’s Police Medal For Distinguished Service” on the gala 68th Republic Day-2017.

Also 11 cops from Odisha, including a senior lady IPS officer, will also be awarded the prestigious “Police Medal For Meritorious Service” on the auspicious occasion.

1993-batch Odisha cadre IPS officer Sushant Kumar Nath has been selected to receive the President’s Police Medal.

Nath is currently officiating as IG (Modernisation) here at the Odisha Police headquarters.
Besides Nath, another senior Odisha police officer and incumbent Bhadrak SP Dilip Kumar Das would also receive the President’s Medal this year.

Among the 11 police officers from Odisha selected to receive Police Medal for Meritorious Service is S. Shyni.

2001 batch IPS officer S. Shyni is the incumbent DIG of South Western Range of Odisha Police.

The 10 other police officers are V. Raghunath Rao, ASP, Koraput, Dilip Kumar Purohit, SDPO, Titilagarh, Bolangir, Bibhudhendu Sahoo, DSP, Vigilance Directorate, Cuttack, Suryamani Pradhan, Inspector, Bhubaneswar, Geetarani Sethi, Inspector, Security Wing, Bhubaneswar, Pramod Kumar Sahoo, Inspector, Special Branch, Headquarters, Bhubaneswar, Dalabandhu Pradhan, Sub-Inspector, Koraput, Subash Chandra Mishra, ASI, CID CB, Odisha, Mohan Chandra Mallick, Havildar, Kalahandi and Rameswar Naik, as per an official list released by the Odisha Police headquarters.

Notably, 777 personnel will be awarded with the prestigious Police Medals on the occasion of the Republic Day this year. Police Medals for Gallantry (PMG) will be awarded to 100 personnel, President’s Police Medals for Distinguished Service to 80 personnel and Police Medal for Meritorious Service to 597 personnel.

While 32 Jammu and Kashmir police personnel will get the Gallantry Medal, the award will also go to 12 personnel from Andhra Pradesh, seven each from Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and four each from Assam and Manipur.
