Puri: The Court of Additional District Judge, Puri on Monday awarded life imprisonment to 20 persons accused in a murder case registered in September 2021.
The deceased, Manas Baliarsingh was murdered by a group in a dispute over the felling of trees on Government land in Kanas. The incident occured on September 12, 2021, in Balijitapur village in Kanas block.
Out of the 20 accused, one has died, said Assistant Public Prosecutor Satyanarayan Tripathy. Apart from the life sentence, the accused have been ordered by the ADJ to pay a fine of Rs 30,000, he added.
