Rayagada: A mini van carrying around 25 passengers overturned on the Kalyansinghpur main road here on Wednesday. At least 20 persons were injured and two of them seriously wounded as a result of the mishap.
The incident occured near Laxmipur village and the locals acted as first responders. Soon, several 108 ambulances were rushed to the site to ferry the injured to the local hospitals.
According to reports, the group was proceeding to attend a wedding function at Ramachandrapur village in Rayagada. The victims are natives of Bheja village.
It was due to overloading, the mini van driver lost control on the wheels due to which the vehicle turned turtle. The injured persons have been shifted to Rayagada district headquarters hospital.
Local police have registered a case in this connection.
