Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has extended the farmer registration deadline for paddy procurement to August 25, allowing more farmers to participate in the process.
Food Suppliers and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra informed that around 17 lakh farmers have already registered, with expectations to surpass 20 lakh registrations by the deadline.
To facilitate a smoother registration process, the government has introduced a self-declaration form, eliminating the need for additional documents such as consent letters from co-heirs for land inheritance proof. This move aims to reduce delays and ensure that farmers can register within the stipulated time.
The registration process is open to permanent residents of Odisha who are registered farmers and own agricultural land. Farmers are required to provide documents such as Aadhaar card, land details, bank account details, and a voter ID. Both online and offline modes of registration are available, and farmers can register through the Food Odisha website or visit their nearest Krushi Samabaya Samiti/PACS/LAMPS.
Farmers can check their registration status on the Food Odisha website using their registration ID or token number.
