Bhubaneswar: Twenty entrepreneurs from Odisha including 10 Nano Unicorns and 10 Start-ups have been sponsored by the Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA) to participate in Jagriti Yatra 2019, a 15-day long national train journey across the length and breadth of India.
OSDA Chairman Subroto Bagchi congratulated the participants at an event organised at Centre for Youth and Social Development (CYSD) in Bhubaneswar on Sunday prior to their journey to Mumbai.
Journey is needed to be a successful entrepreneur, said Bagchi while advising the entrepreneurs to be ambassadors of Odisha and attain new experiences by interacting with fellow passengers from different regions.
Jagriti Yatra is an ambitious train journey of discovery and transformation that takes hundreds of India’s highly motivated youth, especially those who are from small towns and villages of India, on a 15-day national odyssey to meet the role models social and business entrepreneurs of the country.
It will commence on Dec 24, 2019, from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) in Mumbai and will cover 8000 km across the circumference of India and will return back to Mumbai on Jan 8, 2020.
It is worthwhile to mention that 15,000 entrepreneurs across the country had applied for the Jagriti Yatra, out of which 450 were selected including 20 from Odisha. All of them will be provided with training materials inside the train.
The train journey starting from Mumbai will cover Hubli, Bengaluru, Madurai, Chennai, Vishakhapatnam, Berhampur, Rajgir, Deoria, Delhi, Tilonia and Ahmedabad before ending at Mumbai.
As all the 450 entrepreneurs are scheduled to reach Berhampur on December 31, OSDA has already arranged for their stay. Commissioner-cum-Secretary of Odisha’s Skill Development & Technical Education department, Sanjay Kumar Singh is scheduled to address them at Berhampur’s Gram Vikas on December 31.
