Athagarh (Cuttack): As many as 20 platoons of policemen will be deployed for ‘Bada Osha’ and ‘Panchaka Brata’ at the Baba Dhabaleswar Peeth keeping in view the expected large congregation of devotees at the shrine.
In addition to that 3 Additional SPs, 24 Inspector of Police, 21 Sub Inspectors and policemen in plain clothes will be deployed.
The decision in this regard was taken a preparatory meeting for the upcoming ‘Bada Osha’ and ‘Panchaka Brata’ at the shrine chaired by Cuttack Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani. The meeting was attended by Debadutt Baral, Additional SP, Cuttack, senior officials of various line departments and members of the Dhabaleswar Pujak Samiti.
Emphasis was laid on health, sanitation, traffic and crowd management and safety aspects at the meeting held at the premises of the shrine.
The ‘Panchaka Brata’ will commence on November 23 and end on November 27 on the occasion of Kartik Purnima. ‘Bada Osha’ will be observed at the shrine on November 25 and on the cusp of Trayodashi and Chaturdashi the famous ‘Gaja Bhoga’ will be offered to Baba Dhabaleswar. On November 26, ‘Gaja Bhoga’ will be distributed to the devotees.
Collector Chayani has directed all stakeholders to remain prepared in view of the expected large flow of devotees during the festival.
