Bhubaneswar: Odisha received 20,000 rapid antigen test kits on Wednesday. The kits have arrived at Regional Medical Research Centre in Bhubaneswar from where these will be distributed across all districts and hospitals, an official of the Health and Family Welfare Department said.
While 4,700 kits will be stocked in RMRC’s reserve, 1,500 of those will be sent to SCB Medical College and Hospital (SCB MCH) in Cuttack. Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre (AHRCC) will receive 500 test kits, reports said.
The most affected Ganjam district will get 3,000 antigen test kits while Gajapati will be receive 500.
The remaining five medical college and hospitals (other than SCB Cuttack) will receive 1,000 antigen test kits. All the 32 district headquarters hospital will get 150 test kits each, an official of the Health and Family Welfare Department stated.
Number of COVID-19 cases in Odisha is surging. Till Wednesday evening, the State recorded 10,624 confirmed cases of novel Coronavirus out of which 3,557 cases are active or currently in COVID hospitals.
Total 7,006 persons have recovered from the disease in Odisha while 48 have lost their lives to COVID-19.
