Bhubaneswar: As many as 21 students were injured after a pick-up van overturned at Champa Ghati in Gajapati district. The injured are the students of Chheligada High School under R Udaygiri block in Gajapati.
14 of the injured students were admitted to R Udaygiri Hospital while other seven were rushed to Chandragiri health centre.
Three of the students suffered bone fracture. They will be shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berahmpur.
The accident took place when the students were returning from a sports event organised under the Yuva Odisha-Nabin Odisha program at R.Udayagiri today.
The students were accompanied by their school PET. According to reports, the sports teacher drove the vehicle instead of driver.
The students were transported in the van which was a goods carrier.
R Udaygiri BDO said that students were advised to stay in R Udaygiri. However, they left the place.
