Chitrakonda (Malkangiri): Chitrakonda police have seized 210 kg of ganja (marijuana) from an auto-rickshaw near Rajulkonda farm on the Chitrakonda-Sileru (AP) road and arrested two persons on Wednesday.
The accused have been identified as auto-rickshaw driver Ajaya Machha of Beniaguda village and financier Krushna Machha of Panjabi Chowk all under Chitrakonda police limits, informed Anshuman Dwibedi, Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Chitrakonda.
According to the SDPO, a team of the Chitrakonda police on Wednesday during night patrolling on Chitrakonda-Sileru (AP) road near Rajulkonda farm detected one auto-rickshaw carrying ganja packed in seven poly packets which were being transported to Sileru.
Police have seized the auto-rickshaw, seven packets of ganja weighing 210 kgs, Rs 25,550 in cash, one mobile phone and two numbers of original Aadhar Cards from the accused persons, the SDPO added.
Dwibedi said that while a case has been registered at Chitrakonda police station both the accused have been forwarded to court.
