Redhakhol: At least 22 people were injured, 8 of them critically, after a pick-up van overturned in Odisha’s Sambalpur district on Thursday morning. The mishap occurred near Dhaurakhamani on the Bishipali Chhaka-Birmaharajpur road.
According to reports, more than 22 people were returning from Narayan Nagar in a pick-up van after participating in a Naama Sankirtana. When their vehicle was crossing the Dhaurakhamani area on the Bishipali Chhaka- Birmaharajpur road, the driver lost control over the wheel and the vehicle overturned.
The injured persons were first taken to Subalaya Hospital and later eight of them were shifted to Boudh District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) as their condition deteriorated.
Some time ago, four of these eight critical persons were shifted to VIMSAR in Burla of Sambalpur district.
