22 Keonjhar Women Land Jobs Through Skill-Based Programme

Bhubaneswar: In a significant step towards empowering rural youth through skill-based employment, 22 candidates from the Keonjhar Centre, have secured job opportunities at Hyderabad and Tiruchirapalli under the Placement Linked Training Programme (PLTP) of the Government of India.

These candidates were trained at the Skill Development and Extension Centre (SDEC), Mining Road, Keonjhar, have secured placement in reputed organisations after successful completion of their training. The training programmes are being implemented by the Dalmia Bharat Foundation.

Under the General Duty Assistant (GDA) trade, a total of 16 candidates underwent 630 hours of training in the healthcare sector. Out of them, 12 candidates have been selected for placement as Nursing Assistants with La McLean India Limited, Hyderabad, to work at AIG Hospital, Hyderabad. Similarly, in the Sewing Machine Operator (SMO) trade, 10 trainees from the ongoing 7th batch are being placed with Colour Jerseys, a unit of Shri Saravana Mills Pvt. Ltd., Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu.

The successful trainees were felicitated by Rina Pradhan CEO, DMF, Keonjhar and Kumar Nagbhusan, CDO-cum-EO, Zilla Parishad, Keonjhar. Congratulating the successful candidates, Pradhan advised them to remain at their respective workplaces, gain valuable experience and skills, and later return to their native place to start new enterprises, thereby contributing to the district’s economic growth and self-reliance. Kumar Nagbhusan appreciated the efforts of the training partners for enabling skill development and livelihood opportunities for rural youth.

The Placement Linked Training Programme aims to enhance employability through demand-driven vocational training and assured job placements in organised sectors. It aims to provide industry-oriented training and assured placement opportunities to local youth, ensuring sustainable livelihood generation and inclusive development in the mining-affected areas. Among other dignitaries, District Skill Development & Employment Officer Ganeswar Nayak, Centre Manager Nimain Nayak, were present on the occasion.
