Cuttack: A 22-year-old girl was charred to death while she was alone at her house located in Christian Sahi area of the city on Monday night.
According to reports, the girl’s parents were not present at home when the tragedy occured. The 22-year-old was mentally challenged, reports said.
Police and Fire Service personnel rushed to the spot following the incident. By the time the blaze was doused, it was late and the girl was charred.
Sources said, an electric short circuit could be the reason which led to the fire. Sutahat police have registered a case and investigating further.
