Bhubaneswar: In response to the prevailing violent situation in Nepal, a group of 23 Odia tourists who were stranded in the country have been successfully rescued and brought back to India. The tourists, who had embarked on a trip to Nepal, found themselves caught in the midst of the unrest.
Thanks to the concerted efforts of multiple agencies, including the Directorate of Odisha Parivar under the Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture, the Office of the Resident Commissioner in New Delhi, the Ministry of External Affairs, the Embassy of India in Kathmandu and the Ambassador of India to Romania, Dr. Manoj Kumar Mahapatra, the rescue operation was completed within a span of five hours.
The rescued tourists, whose names have been identified, have safely returned to India. The prompt action taken by the authorities ensured their safe repatriation.
The rescued tourists include Ajay Kumar Panda, Mamina Panda, Pankaj Kumar Dhal, Bharat Kumar Swain, Kamini Swain, Sharda Prasanna Kar, Rima Kar, Manoj Kumar Mishra, Suren Dalai, Viren Dalai, Parsuram Dalai, Purnachandra Dalai, Prasannajit Dalai, Brajkishore Mishra, Lopamudra Mishra, Shreyan Saurabh Mishra, Santosh Kumar Pani, Sasmita Pani, Bagmipriya Pani, Pramod Kumar Mishra, Rajshree Mishra, Baishnab Sahu, and Suresh Chandra Sahu.
