239 New Covid Positives Detected In Bhubaneswar, Over 73% Local Contact Cases; 2 Deaths

Bhubaneswar: As many as 73.64% of the new Covid-19 positive cases detected in Bhubaneswar in the last 24 hours till 9 AM today are local contact cases.

The city has reported two deaths due to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours taking the death toll due to the disease to 144.

According to the latest update on coronavirus cases shared by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) in the area under its jurisdiction, 176 out of the 239 new Covid-19 positive cases reported in the city are local contact cases.

The BMC in a tweet said that the remaining 63 are quarantine cases.

As on date, the city has 27,909 Covid-19 positive cases out of which 2,684 are active cases.

Similarly, 302 Covid patients have recovered from the disease in the city during the last 24 hours taking the total number of people to have recovered from Covid to 25,060.

A maximum number of 10 local contact cases have been reported from Patia area of the city, while 9 such cases have been reported from Chandrasekharpur.

Similarly, 7 local contact cases each have been reported from Satyanagar and Unit VI localities while Old Town and Laxmisagar have reported 6 such cases each.
