Keonjhar: As many as 24 school students of Anwesha Hostel under Keonjhar police station were admitted to hospital after they fell ill in the school.
District Welfare Officer Prabir Deo said that students went to school after having their meal. They were hospitalized after they complained of fever, body aches and stomach aches.
“We came to know from the school principal that some students fell ill in the school after complaining of fever and body aches. They were immediately admitted to the hospital. Later, six more were taken to the health center. A total of 24 students were admitted, out of them six have been discharged after primary treatment. Others are under treatment”, he added
Some other students also complained of diarrhea last night. They are now under observation, he added.
“Their condition is now stable. I spoke to the CDMO who assured me to send a medical team to the hostel, said DEO.
As many as 468 students are staying in Anwesha hostel near Dharnidhar University, out of them 185 are studying in Greenfield School at Palasapanga.
