Bhubaneswar: As many as 245 elephants have died in Odisha in the last three years from 2019-20 to 2021-22, informed Forest, Environment & Climate Change Minister Pradip Amat.
The Minister shared the information while replying to a question by BJD member from Khandapara Soumya Ranjan Patnaik in the State Assembly today.
Amat stated that while no tiger died, 1347 other wild animals died during the aforementioned period apart from the 245 elephants.
He clarified that out of them 6 elephants and 523 other wild animals were killed by poachers.
