Bolangir: As many as 27 labourers were rescued by the police in Patnagarh here on Saturday while the middlemen involved were arrested today. The laoureres had gathered in a yarn and were about to be transported to a neighbouring state to work in brick kilns. The workers different parts of western Odisha and there were 12 men, 10 women and 7 children among them. Acting on a tip-off, a team led by ASI Ajay Singh raided the yarn and rescued all of them. The rescued workers said that they were promised high wages at the work site.
