2nd Certificate Program In Sports Management To Roll Out From Nov 30

Bhubaneswar: XEBS Ahluwalia Centre of Excellence in Sports Management is all set to roll out its second Certificate Programme in Sports Management on November 30.

The second Certificate Program will be unveiled on a virtual platform at 6 pm on November 30 in presence of IOC President Dr Narinder Dhruv Batra, Odisha Sports and Youth Services Minister Tusharkanti Behera, Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev, Director R. Vineel Krishna, Consul General of France in Calcutta Virginie Corteval, former IPL Chairman Ranjib Biswal, XEBS Chairman Ashley Fernandes, XUB VC Father Antony R. Uvari, XEBS Dean Arun Kumar Paul, Program Coordinator and Designer Michel Desbordes, University of Paris Full Professor Saclay and emlyon business school expert and other faculty and experts.

In October 2019, the Centre had launched the first batch of Certificate Program, exclusively for Odisha candidates with classes held every Saturday at XIMB campus. The XEBS Ahluwalia Centre of Excellence in Sports Management Centre followed it up with SPORT IT, India’s first sports and innovation festival in January 2020 bringing together entrepreneurs from all across the country to a sports start-up village and a one-of-its-kind sports hackathon on the sidelines.

“It is the first and the only Indo-French collaboration in the country and a High Performance Centre (HPC) of the Department of Sports and Youth Services, Government of Odisha,” a press note said, adding, “With its content designed to suit the demands of the dynamic global industry, the three-month program will be an online course complete with all essential components of the business of sports.”

The press note also said, “The Xavier Emlyon Business School (XEBS), a unique collaboration between two academic leaders from India and France, Xavier University, Bhubaneswar and Emlyon Business School, has brought in the best of international and Indian faculty and industry experts to make the program engaging and enriching through its teaching, mentoring and webinars spread across seven modules.”

With 35 students, the batch comprises eminent sportspersons, coaches, entrepreneurs, professionals and sports enthusiasts from all across the country, starting from Nagaland to Tamil Nadu, informed the press note released by the Odisha Sports & Youth Services Department.
