Bhubaneswar: While the first phase vaccination drive is underway till January 25 across the State, more doses of the prescribed Covid-19 vaccines for the second phase will arrive today at the State’s capital city here.
This was informed by Odisha Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Director Bijay Panigrahi while interacting with the media persons.
The H&FW Director informed that 3,34,500 more vaccine doses to reach the State today at around 4.25 pm this afternoon.
He also informed that 16,261 beneficiaries have been targeted to be vaccinated today while the session sites have been 192 across the State for today instead of the enhanced 380 as per the micro plan prepared by the State Administration for the first phase vaccination drive from January 18 to 25.
On being queried about any side-effects detected among the beneficiaries post vaccination, the H&FW Director replied that seven vaccinated persons have been detected to have mild reactions but their health condition is safe.
He also made it loud and clear that the health workers declining to take vaccine will not be allowed free vaccine later. If any beneficiary remains absent on the scheduled day due to unavoidable circumstances can avail the vaccination facility later on.
