3 Arrested, 120g Stolen Gold Recovered In Malkangiri Gold Heist Case

Malkangiri: Malkangiri police arrested three persons involved in a gold heist at a local jewellery shop at Bandabakuliguda under the Sadar police limits in Malkangiri district.

The accused, identified as Suman Kumar Acharya (25) from Borigumma, K Murali (35) from Jaypur, wand A Srinivas Acharya (55) from Nabarangapur, were caught with 120 grams of stolen gold and Rs 4. 50 lakh in cash.

According to reports, the incident occurred on June 3, when businessman Subhash Rajaram Patil (45) was attacked by miscreants on his way home from his jewellery shop in Bandabakuli village and . The thieves snatched a gold bag containing over 1 kg of gold and cash.

Briefing the media Malkangiri Superintendent of Police Vinodh Patil, along with other senior police officials, said “Police investigation led to the arrest of the accused, who were found to be involved in a similar gold heist case in the past. The recovered gold weighing 120 gram and cash, along with a motorcycle and a car used by the accused, have been seized by the police.
