Patnagarh (Bolangir): Patnagarh police on Wednesday arrested three persons in connection with the hijack of a truck on April 21.
The accused have been identified as Anand Sahoo of Kantamal in Boudh district, Kanha Jena of Thikadarpada of Bolangir and Chamaru Munda of Kharlikani village.
According to the police, on April 21 the accused persons had hijacked a manganese-loaded truck from near the Patnagarh Rampur petrol pump at the point of a toy gun while the driver had parked the vehicle and was taking rest.
Later the accused persons had fled after deserting the driver and the truck at a secluded place in a forested area under Deogaon police limits.
The truck was on its way to Visakhapatnam after loading manganese from Champa in Chhattisgarh.
Police have seized two bikes used by the accused persons for committing the offence.
Another two accused persons who are on the run will be arrested soon, police said.
