Bhubaneswar: In a major crackdown under ‘Operation Netra’, Jharsuguda Police on Sunday arrested three persons and seized a large quantity of illegal firecrackers during raids conducted across various locations in the Jharsuguda district.
Acting on the directive of Jharsuguda Superintendent of Police (SP) Gundala Reddy Raghavendra, the police launched simultaneous raids in areas under the jurisdiction of Jharsuguda Police Station, Sadar Police Station, and Banharpali Police Station.
During the operation, police recovered a substantial stockpile of illegal firecrackers stored in violation of safety norms. Three accused persons were apprehended in connection with the seizure.
Jharsuguda Police have reiterated their commitment to taking strict action against those involved in the illegal storage and sale of firecrackers, especially in view of the upcoming Diwali festival.
