Puri: Puri police today arrested three activists of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) on charges of hurling eggs at Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s carcade.
The accused have been identified as Jayant Das, Pradip Parida and Satyabadi Bibhuti Rath.
The accused persons who were initially detained by the police have been booked under sections 294, 341, 353, 332, 336, 506 and 34 of the IPC and were forwarded to court following their arrest.
All three have criminal cases pending against their names in various police stations of Puri.
The accused had hurled eggs at the Chief Minister’s carcade near Hospital Chowk in Puri while he was returning to Bhubaneswar after laying the foundation stone for Srimandir Parikrama Project.
