Bhubaneswar: Three children playing near their home in Kankana village under Bamebari police limits in Keonjhar fell into a tank filled with bitumen. The incident took place on Sunday morning when one of the three children fell into the tank accidentally. In order to rescue him, two others jumped into the tank and were nearly unconscious.
The children were rescued by locals and have been admitted to the hospital. The locals poured kerosene to remove the bitumen stains stuck to the bodies of the children. According to the villagers, it was due to the negligent attitude of the contractor engaged in road construction work, the mishap occurred. The tank was not covered after work, they said.
