Baripada: Two Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) and a Constable of Jharpokharia Police Station in Mayurbhanj have been suspended for allegedly extorting cow traffickers on Wednesday.
Acting on a viral audio, Mayurbhanj SP Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo suspended the three accused. They are ASIs Smruti Ranjan Swain and Chandan Singh, and Constable Deepak Pal.
An audio clip of the police personnel demanding a bribe for releasing the cow-laden trucks to pass for West Bengal had gone viral.
