Keonjhar: Three persons sustained critical injuries after an ambulance rammed into an iron-laden truck from behind on National Highway No. 20 near Ghatgaon police station in Odisha’s Keonjhar district late Tuesday night.
The injured include the driver and another employee of the ambulance and they have been admitted to the Keonjhar District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in critical condition.
According to reports, the accident occurred when the ambulance was returning from Keonjhar after dropping a patient in a village near Dhenikot on Tuesday night. While returning to the Keonjhar DHH, the driver was reportedly feeling drowsy and he rammed the vehicle into the rear of the parked truck.
The state-of-the-art ambulance was completely crushed under the impact of the accident.
Meanwhile, Ghatgaon police have seized the ambulance and launched an investigation into the incident.
